Sutton Bonnington Student Halls Of Residence

Client: Nottingham University
Architect: Lewis & Hickey
Cost: £5 Million
Completion: 2009

This new student residency located in the countryside near Loughborough, was constructed in 2 blocks on a sloping site. Piled foundations and a vibro improvement to ground slab area were required. It was constructed using steel frame transfer structure in places with timber framing to 4 & 5 floors over. Sustainable Urban Drainage (SUDS) was used to limit rainwater runoff including permeable pavements and use of an onsite attenuation pond.
